Ohio Bar Exam Format
Beginning with the July 2000 exam, the Ohio Bar Exam will be administered as follows:

Ohio Bar Exam Scoring
Beginning with the July 2000 exam, the relative weight of each portion of the Ohio Bar Examination will be as follows.
- Written Portion of the Exam - 66.7%
- Ohio Essay Questions - 53.33%(12 questions total)
- Multistate Performance Test - 13.33%(two problems total)
- Multistate Bar Exam- 33.33%(200 multiple choice questions total)
Beginning with the July 2000 exam, the following formula will be used to determine an examinee's score. (Rules of the Ohio Board of Bar Examiners, Rule I. Section 3)
Total Score = (scaled score on the written portion of the exam x 2) + (MBE scaled score)
To be successful, an examinee must achieve a combined minimum score of 405.
There is no minimum essay, MPT, or Multistate Bar Exam score required to pass.
