Essay Advantage is a supplemental course specifically designed for the essay portion of the California Bar Exam. With dramatically declining pass rates in recent years, the ability to write clearly, concisely, and confidently is more important than ever.

The Professors

All of our faculty are recognized experts in exam analysis instruction. The Essay Advantage Professors include:

Professor Richard Conviser (IIT Kent)
National Director and Founder of the BARBRI program. A graduate of Boalt Hall and a member of the California Bar, he has been preparing students for the California Bar Exam for more than a dozen years.

Professor Richard Freer (Emory Law School)
A graduate of UCLA Law. He has been named "Most Outstanding Professor" four times at Emory Law School.

Professor Erwin Chemerinsky (University of California, Irvine) 
Harvard Law graduate and author of numerous publications.

Professor Stanley Goldman (Loyola University School of Law)
Has tried over 250 cases and has argued before the California and U.S. Supreme Courts.


Resident Tutors

Classes are taught by our Resident Tutors with the assistance of video study aids prepared by our professors. In addition to their teaching responsibilities, these Resident Tutors will:

1. Meet with students throughout the course to discuss their individual progress in the program.

2. Personally supervise the grading of your papers.
